Executive Committee At the fall banquet the
membership approved the nominating committee's
recommendation for the 2005 executive committee:

Fall
Soling Bowl Two VSC Solings traveled to
Annapolis, MD October 22-24, 2004 to compete in the Fall
Soling Bowl hosted by the Severn Sailing Association. In
a fleet of nine boats, CAN 197 skippered by Peter Hall
placed third and Ed Trombley's USA 833 finished the
regatta in fourth. See full

Lake
Champlain Soling Championship With four wins and a
second Peter Hall and Mike Parsons on CAN 197 captured
the Lake Champlain Soling Championship on Sunday October
3, 2004. With a total of 9 points Ed Trombley
finished the regatta in second place. John Trombley
brought his boat USA 849 home in third place. See regatta
results. The team of Hall and Parsons also clinched
the Soling
Sunday series. |

PHRF
Sunday Series Three Sunday series races were
completed during the weekend of September 24 and 25.
Real Escape won both races on Saturday to capture the
Eisinger Cup make up. The vessel Adhara skippered
by Luc and JP Varin won the Fall Classic on
Sunday. And Don Duley's Real Escape won the
McDowell Cup make up Sunday. Two thirds and a
fourth place finish this weekend were enough to clinch
the series win for Kjell Dahlen and the crew of the
Obsession. Gene Grafals and the crew of Graceful Spirit
finished the series in second place. Craig Meyerson and
Rhapsody crew finished third in the series. See PHRF

Soling
North American Championship The winds cooperated by
blowing for four days in a row in Plattsburgh Bay
September 16-19 so 22 boats could compete in the seven
race Soling North American Championship. Eleven
boats from places such as Maine, Boston, Connecticut. Annapolis,
Chicago, Wisconsin, and Toronto, joined eleven VSC boats
to make up the 22 boat fleet. Bill Abbott on CAN 1
captured the championship by winning two races and not
finishing lower than fifth. Peter Galloway and Stuart
Walker, were tied for second place
with the tiebreaker awarded to Galloway by virtue of his
two wins. The first three finishers in the red fleet
were Tom Mitchell, Steve Bobo, and John Trombley. Read

PHRF
Wednesday B Series The crew of Obsession
skippered by Kjell Dahlen has secured first place in the
PHRF Wednesday B series. Scoring three firsts and
three seconds Obsession finished three points ahead of
the second place boat of Commodore, Don Duley. Gene
Grafals in his new boat Graceful Spirit finished the
series in third place. Chuck Surber on Elysian captured
the class B series honors. See Wednesday

Soling
Tuesday Series Ed Trombley, Phil Gorman, and Jordy
Von Elbe aboard USA 833 won the Soling Tuesday series.
In the 15 race series Ed's crew did not score a race
worse than fourth place all year. They finished the series
nine points ahead of second place finisher Chris Duley
on USA 850. Ty Kretser in his new boat USA 811 finished
the series in third place. See series
