Commodore
Don Duley called the meeting to order at 6:30pm.
Dan
Inhelder (DI) made a motion to accept the minutes of the last meeting. It was
seconded by Phil Gorman (PG) and passed unanimously.
Finance
Committee
Brian
White (BW) handed out a current financial statement and noted that we lost a
little bit on the Spring Banquet.
It
was noted by many at the table that there were several complaints about the
Banquet in terms of the value of the meal and as related to the cost, and the
lousy venue for making announcements to the gathered club members. We will
probably not use the venue again.
BW
noted that we had 10 Associate Members and 25 Regular members to date, with
more coming in (even tonight!).
BW
plans to transfers money into the Boat Fund now to cover the January 2005
payment to investors. All agreed that this was a good idea.
BW
wondered if we should add a Reserve Fund into the Bylaws Revision, to save for
boat repair or to buy the next boat. Perhaps $50 per Regular member?
The
David McDowell fund stands at $138. Will hold a bit longer before sending. Don
Duley (DD) suggested rounding it to $150 and sending it in. All agreed.
Race
Committee
PG
reported that racing is underway and proceeding well. PG also reported that we
need a new General Recall Flag and that our old set of signal flags has
disappeared.
All
marks are in with the exception of the Vermont mark.
We
need a new GC1 placard. DD will ask Eddie Trombley.
When
will windex be installed on Committee Boat?
Soling
NAs

Rating
Committee

Community
Events
Chris

Press

DI
updated the display board by the PBB store and will continue to update.
DD
reported that the Crisis Center is having a raffle and has requested our
participation, though the details are as yet very much undefined. DD will tell
them our plate is full.
New
Business
BW
asked about the Sunfish Regatta. PG has heard nothing from them so we don’t
know.
BD
will pursue the Club Receipts Fund Raising Idea discussed last month.
Bob
Bunnell (BB) introduced the idea of charging Crew Members in future years. The
discussion was tabled for next month or later.
The
next meeting of the Executive Committee will be on July 1, 2004, at 6:30 pm,
at The Inn at Smithfield. All interested Club members and friend are welcome
to attend.
DI
motioned to adjourn, BD seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.

submitted,
