Executive Meeting Minutes

April 13, 2005

 

Attendees:  Brian White, Amber and Phil Gorman, Tom Morley, Tim McCormick, Tom Metz, Brian Dowling, Ed Trombly, Chris Duley

 

Meeting called to order at 7:15pm

 

Tom Metz from Adirondack Council of Boy Scouts presented on their Sea Scouting program. They are currently looking for a sponsoring organization in hopes to educate youth on sailing, and potentially racing sailboats.

 

Treasurer’s Report – Brian White

-         Presented April’s budget.

-         Discussion regarding trailer insurance and additional liability insurance which would involve a separate policy.

-         Tim McCormick reported on sponsorship, he has earned more income through sponsorships that anticipated. 

 

March meeting minutes presented, motion to accept minutes by Amber Gorman, 2nd by Brian Dowling, motion carries.

 

Race Committee Report – Brian Dowling

-         Commodore’s Cup party will be held after the Kent DeLord Cup

-         Permanent schedule will be out by the end of this week.

-         Discussion held on rule 30.1 in book, discussion ceased with overall thought to not change the rule.

-         Discussion regarding where Soling will start during the PHRF Wednesday night series, the decision has been deferred back to the Race Committee.

 

Committee Boat Report – Chris Duley

Ed Trombley will do some work to the boat in the next two weeks and volunteered to help launch the boat.

 

Soling/One Design – Ed Trombley

US Soling Championships scheduled for June 9-12.

 

Rating Committee -  Tom Morley

-         meeting on 4/12/05, discussion held on rating of the J105.  Mallot’s Bay has requested we split the PHRF Fee of 200.00 between the four clubs, Mallot’s Bay, LCPHRF, Mayor’s Cup and VSC so each group pays 50.00. 

 

Social Events –

Spring Banquet tentatively set for May 7th at 5:30 pm.  Looking into three possible locations.

New Business –

Tim McCormick initiated a discussion regarding Course 2 in the VSC Book for Solings, discussion held.

 

Next meeting, May 11th, 7pm at the Inn at Smithfield.
