VSC Executive Committee

The Minutes of the Dec. 6 meeting were read and one correction was made.  The donated boat was sold, but payment not yet received.  The minutes were then Approved.

 

The board addressed  the makeup of the members and Brian Dowling will pay full membership dues so that we will have 4 full members making up the exec. committee.

 

Treasurer's report..

·                     Gwen presented a proposed budget.  A motion was made by Gwen to move $2846.04 from the general checking to the boat payment account .It was 2nd by Amy and passed.After discussion of C Meyerson"s comments and request for funds for the LC Race  week, Ed motioned to budget $250 instead of $322.40.  2nd by Dave and passed.  We suggested eliminating coffee etc. and finding less expensive printing for  flyers.The rest of the proposed budget  was acceptable and a motion was made to accept proposed budget by B Dowling...2nd by Ty Kretzer.Passed

 

Race Committee

Ty informed us that the book is not yet edited, and updated us on its progress

 

PHRF

The board discussed C Meyerson's  email on the LC Race Week events and costs.  As stated in the budget, we  will  allow $250 for expenses.

 

Soling committee

Brian White  will set up a meeting in February for the soling fleet to discuss pertinent issues.

 

Membership proposal

The board discussed at length, the proposal sent out to attract more crew membership dues.  We read member comments and the majority were against the proposed plan.  Ed made a motion to drop the plan of mandatory crew dues...2nd by B. Dowling...passed

 

Rating Committee

The board feels that the committee is fair and VSC is well represented as is.  Brian D will schedule a meeting in the spring.

 

Protest Committee

Nothing to report

 

Social Events

Amy set Feb 17 as the winter fiesta party at LP Pub and Brewery.....at a cost of $10, which includes a glass and beer.  It is pot luck and will probably have raffle items and 50/50.   The club shirts are in and will be available for sale at the party.   The cost is $35 for polo and $20 for ladies tee.

 

New Business

Amy was asked to speak at Rotary about VSC's role in the community and our events.  The board agreed  that this is a great idea.

 

Brian White will follow up on collecting the payment from the sale of the donated boat.  CBCBC will be asked for a receipt  for our $200 donation to their organization from this sale.

 

We will update our email and home address list of all members.

 

The next meeting is scheduled for March 7 at 6:30
