The minutes of the January 31, 2007 meeting were read and approved.

Treasurer's Report

Gwen updated us on the proposed budget line by line and the prospective income and expenses, including insurance, deductibles, boat payment schedules. Brian Dowling paid full membership, making the board membership legal.  The payment of $200 for the donated boat was collected.  The application for membership in the NE Sailing Assn. was not renewed.  The sponsorship on Anne Porter form last year will be include in this year's VSC race book and link on the website. Brian Dowling will compose and send out letter including PHRF application and membership dues.

Race Committee Report

Ty reported that his has a tentative schedule of races and race committees set up.  He would like to do a clinic on the proper way to run a race, and the committee boat, prior to the first race for EVERYONE who is involved in running races this season. At the Soling meeting, there was discussion on who will run the races. Barb Wagner is willing; Jeff is tentative; the committee boat being hard to handle. Discussion let to agreement that the boat is what it is and we have to deal with it.  We discussed at length how to make this work.  Hopefully, with cooperation form each soling, we will have a cooperative effort.  A 6:30 start time was agreed upon, except for the end of the season, as days get shorter.  Mike Parsons has agreed to do a clinic/seminar on boat speed/tactics.  Hope to get a few others to do the same.  There was also discussion finding new permanent race marks and chain.  We will have to do some scrounging...

Rating Committee Report

A meeting is scheduled for 3/28 in Vermont.  the LCPHRF data base is being updated y John O'Rourke.  Brian and Dave will each purchase their own copies. Thank you!

Social Committee

Amy reported on the midwinter fiesta at the Lake Placid Brewery.  Even though it was a smaller turnout, we made approximately $250.  There was minimal cost and lots of beer.  The brewery may become beer sponsor for us.  We discussed place and date for the spring gathering.  Amy will look into possibilities and bet back with best offers.

LC Race Week: Amy updated us on this event.  She has several potential sponsors.
