VSC Executive committee Minutes

April 18, 2007

6:30 pm

Present: Ed Trombley, Amy Kretser, Dave Bashaw, Ty Kretser, Brian White, Shirley Tedford

The minutes of the March meeting were read and approved.

Jason Rabideau and Tom Metz of the Adirondack district sea scouts presented a brief overview of their program.  Their objective in meeting with VSC is to join forces to recruit local youth between 14 and 20 interested in boating and navigation.  We offered to help coach on water and steered them to the Community Boating Program with the city  rec department

Treasurer’s report

The committee authorized payment of $260 to Olive Ridley’s as down payment for party on the 18^th of May

We also authorized the payment of $556 for marine liability insurance.

The marina will repair the hoist and send the bill to VSC.

Ed authorized a spending freeze on anything non-essential.

The treasurer’s report was accepted.

Race committee report

Ty updated us on the additions and corrections to the race book.

Bob Bunnell offered to hunt up large barrels for marks.

We discussed “race week” schedule and sponsors.  The program is progressing.

Soling

Brian White announced that Mike Parsons will hold a clinic on 4/25 at 7PM at Eye Care on Margaret St.  We are hoping to set up another one on tactics with Peter Hall in the near future…….subject to his availability.

Rating committee

Dave Bashaw informed us that MBBC and LCYC will combine web sites and list all ratings

Protest committee           no report

Social committee

Amy gave us a quick update on the spring party

New business

Brian White would like to update the email list of paid membership

Meeting adjourned 8:30.  Next meeting  is May 16 @ 6:30
