VSC Executive Committee Minutes

August 13, 2007

6:30 PM

There were no minutes of the previous meeting.

Treasurer’s report……….Gwen was not here, but Ty reported $100 given to club from Rotary Club for use of our committee boat for the Mayor’s Cup.

Race committee………..Ty reported that the OD scheduling has been working out very well .  The committee boat  spare motor is a good  parts motor, and the  boat itself seems to be in good shape.

PHRF….we reviewed the LCRW activities and  feel that the race week was successful in netting us additional funds and advertising our club.  Amy had done up a picture board and info card for the spectator boat for the Mayor’s Cup race in conjunction with Rotary.

Soling…..participation in Sunday’s race is questionable, and Ty will poll racers Tuesday night..The US championships will be held here  September 28, 29, 30. Brian White is in charge.

Rating committee……….Craig Meyerson filed his rating review with the USPHRF committee. 

Social committee…………Amy will set up the  fall banquet possibly at the Barracks on Nov. 3.  Next Tuesday we will have a pot luck party after the soling race for all club members………..need grills and dish to share……more details later.

New Business……………………we need volunteers for next year’s executive board.   All  club members are encouraged to take their turn at  the helm………………….Ty and Amy will  write up a letter encouraging members to step up………………………we  discussed the possibility of selling the committee boat and buying a smaller “whaler” type  craft.

Next meeting is scheduled for  Mon., September 10 at 6:30
