Lake
Champlain Soling Championship On September 27 and 28,
five boats competed for the coveted lamp trophy and the title of
2008 Lake Champlain Soling Champion. Seven races were completed in
the two day event in surprisingly favorable wind. In a fitting end
to the season Peter Hall and Mike Parsons on CAN 225 were crowned
champs capping a Tuesday night season where they did not lose
single race they entered. On USA 780 Brian White with the aid of
Don Brush and Shirely Tedford gave Peter a run for his money by
winning 3 of the 7 races and finishing just two point behind.
Ed Tombley on USA 833 finished the regatta in third. Two
visiting boats joined the Lake Champlain fleet. In a dead heat tie
for fourth Henry Thomas on USA 799 and Ted Richards and Larry
Votary on CAN 198 had identical scores for the entire regatta. See

the most part the rating change did not change Souvenir's

2008 VSC Tasks
At the Fall banquet the
outgoing executive committee introduced an idea that changes the
functioning of this club. Because not enough
volunteers for the 2008 executive committee were found, all of the
tasks that need to be accomplished to run racing were enumerated.
Each task was assigned to a club member who will need to see that
their assigned task is accomplished in a timely manor. See the
full task list here.
