Bruce presented ideas for fundraisers and awards for races in hopes to promote the
VSC.
Polo shirts for men and women along with a compression top to wear under
gear
for light layering. All shirts will have wicking properties to help stay dry. Beer mugs
(with VSC logo) will be explored in both glass and polycarbonate. Burgees with VSC
Logo to display in races will be offered to boat owners. Tim will ask Beth to help design
VSC logo, and Brian will return to next meeting with cost figures.
Four members have paid full membership to date. Mike Parsons, Peter Hall, J.P.
Turgeon, and Andy Sajor. Bills are paid in full for 2009. Don expects insurance bill for
VSC to arrive any day. Automatic payments are set up for boat engines. Money is
available to cover payments the first few months of 2010. Don will be actively
working on collecting membership dues for this season.
Phone conference with Chris Duley and VSC board members.
Chris recently repre-
sented VSC at LCPHRF meeting. There are presently nine members on board LCPHRF.
Motion to nominate three members Kjell Dahlen, Chris Duley, and Brian Dowling as
Representatives from VSC for LCPHRF.
Unanimous agreement.
Tim will work on plans for a “winter club gathering.” Ideas include possible sail
comparison and measuring party with dogs and beer (Measure party to be just before sailing season – two separate get events) , and summer gathering pot-
luck. J.P. has offered to
supply hot dogs. Motion for J.P. to
ask Kjell Dahlen use of
his home for winter party allocating funds to be determined for cleaning. Funds were set aside in the event we could not use Kjell’s house Vote
unanimous.
Andy found VSC mark out on the ice at the PBB. He returned it to shore and has
secured it together with the rest of the marks with chain.
Andy has paid dues as a JAM member making him a full member without spinnaker.
Bylaws lengthy and difficult to understand for members of VSC. Motion for Tim
McCormick to establish subcommittee to read over and form new bylaws
reporting back
in early Spring. Motion
approved 5/0.
Board members encouraged to read over bylaws presently on website.
Julie LeBerge will
be asked to help translate bylaws into French.
February 9th, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. Venue will be Duley Realty.
