Justin Dubois.
II. Approval of May VSC meeting minutes. 6/0.
III. Vice Commodore Report: Committee boat has been hauled out of the water, and has been
transported to Sherm Bezio’s for repair work.
Dave Bashaw will be over-
seeing the project. J.P. has located a 175hp motor from Deno Marina in
Grandby Canada. He’ll consult with Dave Bashaw and Eddie Trombley to
see if the motor will be an acceptable match to the existing Committee
boat motor. Deno Marina is willing to swap out the bad motor from the
pair the VSC club currently has in exchange for the new motor. The
shaft length of the new motor is comparable to the VSC motors.
Motion to borrow $5,000.00 from existing line of credit for payment of
repairs and replacement parts, and fees for new motor for VSC
Committee boat. Approved 6/0.
Racing rules have been changed on the VSC website.
The VSC will be
adopting a TOT calculation which is currently in use by other Sailing Clubs
throughout Lake Champlain, and also used during the Mayor’s Cup. A
specific calculation will also be used in the event of a tie-breaker . There
will be a course #27 added to the sailing instructions. This will allow the
O.D. to run a race which will be concurrent with weather conditions and
available race marks.
IV. Treasurer’s Report: Don has submitted a list of paid members, and is working on collecting
any unpaid dues from other club members. Any unpaid members will
not be scored for races until dues have been received by the VSC
treasurer. Unpaid members can expect to receive a bill for their dues.
Don will contact bank which has approved a line of credit for VSC for the
Committee boat repairs as mentioned in the Vice Commodore Report.
V. Commodore Report: J.P. has been in contact with the Naked Turtle owners to ask if they
are interested in sponsoring the VSC, and also promote their business in
having a social gathering in conjunction with the “Naked Turtle Race”.
Further details at future meetings once a day has been chosen for that
race. It will most likely be “piggybacked” on an existing Sunday race.
The PBB has secured a slip for the Committee Boat this season at no
charge.
VI. Rear-Commodore Report: Tim has brought forth a high point scoring system for races
which take into account the number of boats in a race, and the number
of races sailed for a fleet standing. This will be brought forward during
our next full membership discussion. Brian White has submitted a
budget for the North American Soling Championships. Motion to
advance $800.00 from the VSC account for entertainment purposes.
